Raise the BAR for Animals™

The Animal Law Guild is a nonprofit think tank of attorneys and law students dedicated
to making the world a better place for the animals we share it with through legal advocacy. 

We seek to unite legal professionals from diverse backgrounds
in a respectful and supportive environment with the aim to discover, discuss,
pursue and promote ideas and creative solutions to move the law forward for animals. 

The Animal Law Guild works to Raise the BAR for Animals™ by:

• Providing a global forum for attorney and law student members to exchange ideas, share best practices, enhance skills, study and understand laws, regulations and case law pertaining to all areas of animal law, and discover innovative ideas and strategies to move the law forward for animals;
• Hosting an annual conference, brown-bag lunches, roundtables, CLE seminars, networking opportunities, public service programs and other events on various issues relating to animals and the law in order to educate the legal community and the public about animal law and different ways in which the legal system can work to protect animals;
• Monitoring developments in the animal law field and conducting research regarding specialized areas of concern for animal law practitioners;
• Supporting local, state, and federal legislative efforts to move the law forward for animals;
• Drafting amicus briefs in important cases pertaining to animal law;

• Offering internships, programs, mentoring, and support for law students interested in animal law;
• Promoting the development of animal law at local, national and international law schools; and
• Partnering with law firms, bar associations, law schools, animal protection groups, and other organizations whose activities complement the Animal Law Guild's mission.
